Appearance by Judy Garland's Granddaughter, Vanessa O'Neil

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (July 14, 2026) — The Plaza Theatre will host a special screening of the beloved classic The Wizard of Oz on Friday, August 22 at 3:00 PM, featuring a personal appearance by Special Guest Vanessa O'Neil, Founder of @judygarlandestate Social Media Platforms, & Granddaughter of Judy Garland. O'Neil will introduce the film and join audiences for a Q&A.

ABOUT VANESSA O’NEIL
Born in Los Angeles, CA, in 1990, Vanessa O’Neil is the only granddaughter of
the legendary actress and performer Judy Garland. Her mother is Garland's
daughter, international concert artist, actress and New York Times-bestselling
author Lorna Luft, and her father was the rock’n’roll guitarist/songwriter/producer
Jake Hooker, whose credits include the iconic anthem "I Love Rock and Roll."

As the founder and administrator of the Judy Garland Estate's official social media
platforms, Vanessa is a leading voice and a passionate advocate for her family's
creative legacy. She works to preserve and celebrate the professional and personal
memories of the grandmother she never knew. “Grandma died two decades before
I was born, but I have always felt so close to her,” says O’Neil. “As I’ve grown up,
I’ve had an unwavering desire to connect with those who also share a deep
devotion and love for her.”

Recently featured in People magazine and on The Today Show, Vanessa's public
appearances include stops at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, The Academy
Museum, the TCM Classic Film Festival, and Oz-Stravaganza! - the world's largest
and longest-running Wizard of Oz festival. She has represented the estate at The
Sphere in Las Vegas alongside her mother and shared the stage with her iconic
aunt, Liza Minnelli, and entertainer Michael Feinstein at the historic Million Dollar
Theatre in Los Angeles.

Vanessa previously worked in hotel and hospitality management throughout
Southern California before segueing into fitness training enterprises in the health
and wellness industry. Today, she balances her social media work with
being a wife and mom to her own family: husband Patrick, a Southern California
firefighter, and their two sons, Logan (10) and Kieran (4).
