Administrative Offices

  • The Box Office is located directly inside the entrance to the theatre, on the southwest corner of the building. The box office is closed on non-event days. On event days, the box office is open at 11:00am until the event start time. See “Box Office” for more information. 

AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

An AED machine is located on both the main level and second level. If you need immediate assistance, please see any staff member or volunteer. 

Airport

The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre and the entire Greater Palm Springs area are served by Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), which is a quick 5–10-minute drive to the theatre. 

Alcohol Policies

  • The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre and all of its partners strive to promote responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages. Our alcohol policies are listed below: 

  • Any person purchasing alcohol must have a valid I.D. present and must be 21 years of age or older 

  • Alcohol cannot be brought into or out of the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre 

  • The sale of alcohol is limited to two per guest per purchase 

  • Depending on the event, alcohol sales will cease 30 minutes prior to the end of the show, or after the established intermission/break in the show. Any changes to alcohol cutoff time may be made, without notice and at the discretion of the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre.  

  • The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcohol at its discretion

All-Gender / ADA Restrooms

  • There are 2 all-gender, single-occupancy restrooms inside the theatre. These can be found to the left and right of the Modernism Week Lobby prior to entering the orchestra seating area. 

  • During the renovation of the theatre, all-gender restrooms were updated to be ADA compliant 

Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive Listening Devices are available for complimentary checkout during any event. Please stop by the Guest Services podium located in the Modernism Week Lobby. 

Bag Policy

  • All bags are subject to search upon entry to the theatre by security personnel. Any bag that is deemed unsafe will not be allowed into the theatre.  

  • Bags that obtain prohibited items (such as a metal chain or strap) will not be permitted. 

Banners & Signs

  • Large banners & signs exceeding 11” x 17” are not permitted into the theatre.  

  • Small signs are allowed inside the theatre so long as they are not attached to a pole or stick. Signs brought into the theatre should not block other guests’ view. 

Binoculars

Binoculars and their cases are permitted for most events. All items subject to searches upon arrival.

Cameras, Recording Devices, & Cell Phones

  • The use of cameras and other recording devices are permitted on a show-by-show basis. Please refer to the specific show’s event page for more information. 

  • When cameras are permitted, they should adhere to the following camera equipment requirements: 

  • No flash photograph 

  • No monopods or tripods 

  • No professional cameras or cameras with interchangeable lenses 

  • No cameras with lenses greater than 3 ½ inches in length 

Cashless Venue

The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre is a cashless venue. Acceptable forms of payment include all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Apple/Google pay. 

Changing Tables

Due to limited space and the historic nature of the building, baby and adult changing tables are not available inside the theatre. 

Children and Child Tickets

  • Some full-length musicals and plays may not be appropriate for or hold the attention of young children. The theatre staff may request a restless child and parent to quietly exit the lobby during the performance.  

  • Children under 2 years of age are generally not required to have their own ticket if they are sitting on the lap of a ticketed adult. Ticket requirements for events may vary. Please contact the box office at boxoffice@palmspringsplazatheatre.com for ticketing information about specific events.  

Closed Captioning

Closed Captioning is not currently offered at the theatre. Please see the Accessibility page for information on Interpreting Services and Assistive Listening Devices.

Coat Check

We do not provide a coat check at this time.

Concessions

  • A light selection of pre-made snacks, alcoholic beverages, and non-alcoholic beverages are available inside the theatre 

  • Preferred Palm Springs Plaza Theatre restaurants offer pre-show dinner packages, available for purchase through Ticketmaster. These restaurants include FARM, Clandestino, and Lulu California Bistro Kitchen. 

  • No outside food or beverages are allowed inside the theatre. 

Donations

Drop Off

  • Guests with limited mobility or utilizing Rideshare services may be dropped off on S. Palm Canyon Drive, in front of the theatre.  

  • Please note that S. Palm Canyon Drive is a public street and subject to street closures.  

  • Please be aware of those around you and minimize the time traffic is blocked.  

Earplugs

Earplugs are available at the Guest Services podium located in the Modernism Week Lobby.  

Emergencies

  • In the event of a medical emergency or any other emergency situation please dial 911 and notify the closest staff member or volunteer. 

  • Emergency exits are indicated by red-light signs. In the event of an emergency or evacuation, proceed calmly to the exit nearest you. Doors with “exit only” signs will lead you out of, and no back into, the theatre. 

Entrance

  • The Main Entrance of the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre is located on S. Palm Canyon Drive, on the west side of the theatre. 

  • During the renovation of the theatre, all entrance doors were made wheelchair accessible. 

  • Entrances to the Modernism Week Lobby and the Donna & Jon Croel Orchestra were also made wheelchair accessible.

No firearms or weapons, including concealed carry, are allowed inside the premises.  

First Aid

  • Basic first aid kit items are available inside the theatre by asking any volunteer or staff member.

Late Seating

  • The process for late seating varies depending on each show.  

  • Some shows may require that latecomers wait in the lobby until an intermission or an interval established by each performing group.  

  • Please be aware of curtain times! Palm Springs is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST).  

Lost Children/Individuals

For any lost child or at-risk adult, please inform the nearest staff member or volunteer, or proceed to the Guest Services podium in the Modernism Week Lobby.  

Lost & Found

  • Guests who have lost an item during an event are encouraged to visit the Guest Services podium located in the Modernism Week Lobby.  Items that have been found during the event will be temporarily stored in this location. 

  • After an event is over, found items will be securely stored in the Box Office. If you lost an item please submit a claim here. After submitting a claim, if your item is found, a member of the box office team will reach out to you to coordinate retrieval.  

Medical Emergencies

  • Basic first aid kit items are available inside the theatre by asking any volunteer or staff member.

Parking & Transportation

  • The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre is located downtown with several parking garages within walking distance. 1000+ free parking spots are located in the nearby underground garage with several entry points, including the front of the Downtown Hyatt Hotel, next to the Kimpton Rowan Hotel, and across from the Palm Springs Art Museum.  

  • Additional parking can be found throughout downtown Palm Springs. Please see Plan Your Visit for a downtown parking map. 

  • Valet parking is available for purchase in advance through Ticketmaster, at Hotel Zoso located at 150 S. Palm Canyon Drive. Sales shut off 48hr prior to event. Complimentary shuttles are available to and from the hotel depending on availability.  

  • For Thursday evening events, it is recommended to arrive early as Palm Springs Village Fest occurs on Palm Canyon Drive. Take advantage of 100’s of street and food vendors before the show! 

  • Guests with limited mobility or utilizing Rideshare services may be dropped off on S. Palm Canyon Drive, in front of the theatre.

Re-Entry Policy

  • The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre has a strict no re-entry policy. Once you have scanned your ticket, you will not be able to re-enter if you leave before the show is over.  

  • Exceptions to this policy may be made in certain, reasonable circumstances at the discretion of theatre management.  

Restrooms

  • Due to the historic nature of the building, restroom availability is limited. Please plan accordingly. 

  • The Women’s Restroom can be found to the left of the Modernism Week Lobby on the main level, and on the right of the Auen Mezzanine on the second level. 

  • The Men’s Restroom can be found to the right of the Modernism Week Lobby on the main level, and on the left of the Auen Mezzanine on the second level. 

  • There are 2 all-gender, single-occupancy restrooms inside the theatre. These can be found to the left and right of the Modernism Week Lobby prior to entering the orchestra seating area. 

Rideshare

  • Guests using Rideshare (Uber/Lyft/etc.) may be dropped off on S. Palm Canyon Drive, in front of the theatre.  

  • Please note that S. Palm Canyon Drive is a public street and subject to street closures.  

See Something, Say Something

The If You See Something, Say Something campaign encourages the public and frontline employees to identify and report any indication of a threat to the proper law enforcement authorities. To report suspicious activity, see your nearest security guard, staff member, volunteer, or call 911.

The Palm Springs Plaza Theatre is a non-smoking facility. Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is prohibited. 

Stairs

  • Stairs to the Auen Mezzanine (second level) can be found to the right and left of the Mark Adams Grand Foyer, just inside the Main Entrance.  

  • Due to the historic nature of the building, the Auen Mezzanine is accessible by stairs only. There are no elevators inside the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre.  

Stollers

Strollers may not be brought into the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre, as they cannot block seating sections, aisles, or any other location. Guests who bring a stroller will be asked to store it in their vehicle.

Umbrellas

  • Not permitted: Large umbrellas over 12 inches in length, golf umbrellas, or umbrellas with pointed tips 

  • Permitted: Collapsible umbrellas that are no longer than 12 inches in length when collapsed

Will Call

  • All tickets for the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre are digital, mobile entry tickets. Will Call is not available to hold your tickets.  

  • In the rare case you have tickets held for you by theatre staff or an artist, you may pick up your tickets at the Box Office on the day of the event only. A valid government-issued ID must be present to pick up your tickets.
